Pete was the first horse to be pulled in April of 2020. Through rehabilitating him we discovered that Pete suffers from navicular disease. Combined with his senior age, Pete now gets to live out his days eating in the pasture and helping kids learn about horses.
Brandy was pulled from the kill pen on Thanksgiving day 2021. She had several injuries at the time and we had hoped that she would be sound once healed. Alas, Brandy has navicular disease in addition to many other old injuries. Poor Miss Brandy is missing part of her bottom lip and has suffered from a skull fracture. She is healed now and enjoying being a horse.
Shadow is one of our most traumatized horses. He is very fearful and untrusting of people. When we pulled him in July 2021 he came covered in scars and wounds. Do to his skittish nature he has not been ridden and is still working on ground work. He now will let us scratch him and even allow himself to enjoy it!
Jack Jack came to us as a possible 3 month old but upon closer inspection we determined him to be 3 weeks old. He is our little orphan and is growing by leaps and bounds. He has a new horse mommy in Lumi and together they love to snuggle.
Lumi means snow in Finnish. This big draft cross was a December pull from the kill pen. She had originally been a trail horse in Yellowstone. At some point she had suffered a pelvis fracture making her unsound. From our research she has been a broodmare before and has become our resident adoptive mommy.
Odette is a 20 yr old Warmblood and probably the tallest horse on the property at about 17 hands. She is truly a gentle giant. She is said to have some training in dressage and we are excited to see what she knows!
Mama Star was our super senior. She was pulled in August of 2020 and was determined by our vet to be over 25 years old. This sweet old lady lived with us until she coliced in Aug 22, when is was determined that the best thing would be to let her pass on the rainbow bridge. Her sweet knicker is missed ever time we go in the barn.
Indie was our first pull directly from auction. She had ringbone which is a form of arthritis in her feet that had caused severe damage, making it hard for this sweet lady to stand or walk without pain. We believe she had lived most of her life as broodmare but luckily for her she got to spend the last few years as a pampered barn horse.

Rh Miss Yella Sonny aka Roxie is a former APHA/AQHA halter horse reserve champion. She was a broodmare after that and ended up in the pen in July/Aug 2023. She was in rough shape. She's foundered and lost a sweet of twins this fall. We are hoping to get her healthy but she's got a long road.
Walker, Texas Ranger aka Walker is part of our three stooges. He's one of the 3 yearlings we saved in March. He's still standoffish but has definitely learned about dinner time and will beg for grain whenever he sees you. This boy is going to grow up thick. He's got a nice big hip on him and is definitely on the big bone side.
Agnes is an older Belgian mare. She has the kindest eyes. It is said that she broke to ride and drive but right now she's just resting and gaining weight. She's easy to catch and will let you approach her when she's laying down. She's the perfect cuddle bug who would be happy to be a retired old lady.
Winchester is a sweet happy go lucky boy. He does suffer from heaves and does best with full time turn out. He is very respectful on the ground and definitely had been a working horse before we pulled him in September of 2021.
Winchester is a bit of a hard keeper due to his heaves. However, he is a great eater and has never turned his nose up at anything offered him. He loves scratches and being brushed. He would make a great trail horse or kids horse. He is perfect for light riding and loving on. Winchester is 15 years old and roughly 15.2 hands.
